Intensified restrictions in Denmark due to the corona virus / COVID-19

The World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 a global pandemic, and governments are taking far-reaching measures to contain the spread of the virus.

The Danish government has just decided to close the Danish borders, initially until 13 April 2020, to contain and reduce the risk of infection. This means that anyone trying to enter Denmark without a recognised purpose will be denied entry. Furthermore, the Danish government advises against all unnecessary travel to other countries in the same period.

The government has closed all schools, day-care facilities and universities and has sent home all public sector employees who are not in critical roles. Also, the government has requested that private sector employers encourage as many employees as possible to work from home.

In Kromann Reumert, our Crisis Management Organisation was activated two weeks ago. The members talk frequently to closely monitor the situation and to decide on the measures to be taken in Kromann Reumert and the guidelines that we will ask our employees and clients to observe.

We take our social responsibility seriously and of course comply with the government's recommendations and requests. We have activated our contingency plan, which implies that we are fully operational and able to service our clients and business partners as usual, while at the same time approx. 80-90 % of our employees work from home. All client meetings that do not require physical presence will be held over the telephone. We have also ensured that all our locations are fully operational and can service all of our employees, as needed, and also physical client meetings can be serviced if necessary.

We continuously instruct and encourage our employees to take all necessary and appropriate precautions in compliance with the authorities’ recommendations and our internal rules and contingency plans, all of which are updated on an ongoing basis. Our objective is to protect the people who work for us and their families and to support the efforts to contain the virus. At the same time, we have a responsibility towards society and our clients to keep critical business operations running and to maintain our legal consultancy services.

COVID-19 Task Force

We have set up a COVID-19 Task Force, which will regularly provide information within various legal areas about problems that Danish businesses may face as a result of the COVID-19 situation.

We continue to be fully available to our clients and business partners, and we continue to be no further away than a telephone call, an email or a Skype meeting.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
