Daiga Grunte-Sonne is attached to Kromann Reumert's group for personal data and whistleblower schemes. Internationally certified in European data protection law (CIPP/E), she works with personal data law in a number of contexts.
Daiga has considerable experience in data protection compliance projects and programmes to prepare for the General Data Protection Regulation. Projects typically involve kick-off meetings and communication within the organisation, mapping of dataflows (e.g. through workshops and interviews), legal review of processing activities, production of gap analyses and action plans and tasks to implement the necessary compliance measures such as policies, internal procedures, employee training, etc.Her focus is on compliance solutions that are commercially adept and practical in use, striving always to make sure that the regulatory requirements may be implemented in the business in the least disruptive manner.
Daiga advises on, among other things, the framework for the processing of personal data, including the rules of consent, the requirements for legitimate processing and use of personal data for specific purposes such as direct marketing or in the context of an employment relationship. Daiga has extensive experience in the drafting of privacy and cookie policies as well as declarations of consent and other notices about processing of personal data. Also experienced in advising on employment and marketing law, she can assist also on issues where personal data law touches upon these areas. She is also an accomplished adviser on legal data protection issues in due diligence processes and mergers and acquisitions, including complex problems and issues relating to disclosure of personal data as allowed under special rules and legislation.
Daiga often helps in the drafting of data processing agreements and advises on international data transfers, including by application of EU standard provisions and binding corporate rules. She is also an accomplished adviser on the use of cloud-based solutions for data storage purposes, i.a. in relation to the risk assessments involved and the requisite agreements underlying such solutions.
Daiga also assists in the management of a number of voluntary and statutory whistleblower schemes in Kromann Reumert and advises on the processing of reports filed and the investigations to be undertaken.
She facilitates a Kromann Reumert data protection network for insurance companies, mainly data protection officers, as part of Kromann Reumert's personal data network for sizeable businesses in Jutland.
In addition to her work as a legal adviser, Daiga serves as our knowledge ambassador for data protection and, in that capacity, is responsible for internal knowledge sharing in the area, including in relation to a new case law and new legislation, and for the preparation of newsletters. She is also an experienced speaker and teacher on data protection subjects.
