Heela Lakanval specialises in data protection and whistleblower schemes.

Heela advises on privacy law in general, including the issues that may arise when health and data protection law intersect, and in relation to employment relationships and whistleblower schemes.

Danish and international clients seek her advice on the processing of personal data, including the requirements for legitimate processing and use of personal data for specific purposes such as marketing, the rights of data subjects, third country transfers, and drafting and negotiation of data processor agreements. She frequently guides clients through complaints proceedings in the Danish Data Protection Agency and also assists in the drafting of Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) in connection with intragroup transfers to third countries. Heela has extensive experience providing specific and general input on data protection issues in M&A transactions.

Finally, Heela is also Kromann Reumert’s knowledge ambassador in relation to privacy law and whistleblower schemes. As such, she is responsible for promoting the sharing of knowledge of the field, both internally within our organisation and with the outside world.
