Distribution, technology transfer and other vertical agreements

Our competition law group has extensive experience in structuring vertical distribution systems and advising on technology transfer and licensing matters. We assist businesses at all levels in the value chain. Our experience extends across multiple sectors, including the motor vehicle sector, which is subject to separate regulation.

Vertical agreements - including distribution and technology transfer/license agreements - generally promote competition in the market. However, such agreements are also associated with certain competition law risks which must be taken into account.

When advising on the structure of distribution systems and vertical agreements, we focus on optimising the commercial advantages of the cooperation, having regard to the applicable rules.

We have significant experience in all types of vertical arrangements, including exclusivity agreements, selective distribution systems, and franchise arrangements, and assist businesses at all levels in the value chain, including businesses operating at multiple levels.
